Emma, I LOVED reading about things you’ve been loving lately. I’m going to check out the music you talked about because *gulp* I don’t know if I’ve ever really listened to the Beastie Boys!!! And your paintings!!! I love them. Especially the gorgeous gray one 🩶 thank you for sharing so many of your favorite things with such joy and tenderness and depth.

Haha, I think growing up in NY Beastie Boys were just always playing somewhere, like drifting out of a store or passing car or randomly on the radio. I was really into the punk scene in hs and they started in that scene so it was always familiar to me. I don't think I really started to appreciate their music as deeply as I do till recently when I've started to learn more about their journey into and through their music. Their stuff is probably not for everyone, but I think they just have something special and the book Mike D and ADROCK wrote (with the help of so many amazing folks) is really cool and insightful.
Thank you for the love on my art. I think I've told you this, but a few of your paintings are hung near some of mine in the house and it makes me so happy, like our art is hanging out together. :)
